Kitchen Poetry # 3.
Today,
Tomorrow,
Forever,
I’ll bewitch you even if
it takes all night long.
Kitchen Poetry # 2.
How brilliantly
the sun rises again; as
I stare at you sleep.
I Saw You Before You Saw Me.
Personally I think you are insane. You may be the most insane person I know. And trust me, I know a few. But out of all the insane people out the, I like you the best. Because you make waking up every morning something I look forward to doing. I can’t wait to receive your text messages. The ones I can’t help but smile from ear to ear reading. Or those phone calls where we talk for ages about the most ridiculous things. I don’t care that you’re killing my phone bill or that people may look at me funny for bursting out laughing like a fool from something I’m reading on my phone. Personally I think you’re insane but that’s what I like about you.
Kitchen Poetry # 1.
I cried for you
on the kitchen floor
and then decided
I wanted some coffee.
I think people should make a concerted effort to make friends. I don’t want to be your friend just because we know the same people. I don’t want to be your friend by proxy. I don’t want to be your friend because it’s convenient. Or just because we work together. Or because neither of us like to eat lunch alone.
I want to be your friend because we laugh at the same things. Because we can agree to disagree. Because I can say that outfit makes you look fat and you can swat me on the head without us bursting into a fight. Because I know that I can call you at 3am if I can’t sleep. Because you can ring me in the middle of the work day to tell me you’re hungover and still in bed.
I want to be your friend because I choose to be your friend. Not because of circumstance or there wasn’t anyone else. I want to be your friend just because.
So often we need a map to point the way home
here none are as lost.
There was a time
you meant the world to me
and holding your hand
was everything
I needed.
